France is planning to ban the full muslim face veil. A muslim woman - Faiza Silmi who is married to a french man La Verriere has a full face veil and has been declined of her french citizenship because of it. Executing this law could go against many peoples' religions but France still agrees to put it in action anyway. "They say I'm too attached to my religion" said Faiza Silmi word for word. Face covers are rare in France seeing though as muslims make up only 5 million of the population. President Nicholas Sarzoky plans to put this law in action by june 2010. He says word for word "this dress is not welcome in france". He also plans to ban it from schools as well. Although, a bunch of critics say that the ban would go against basic rights and transgression of the fundamental principles of the republic.
Now the critics are right on this fact. Banning full muslim dress just because it doesn't look good WILL go against peoples' religions and could possibly start conflicts which will possibly emerge into a civil war between french muslims and the french. Now let us just hope that it doesn't create a chain reaction. It will be much easier to let the muslims keep their religion. This goes against "freedom of religion".
